What are you blinking at?

May 29, 2011 — 2 Comments Care to join the fun?

Making a split second decision is a fantastic idea.  The human mind has the unconscious ability to sift through piles of information faster than it takes to develop a plan of action.  The problem with this concept is the assumption that knowledge and experience are present in that mind of yours.  Learning is a big part of successful blinking.  If you spend your time batting your eyes at decisions and rationalize that your unconscious is taking care of the dirty work, do not be surprised when the ramifications of your blinking kicks you to the curb.

What a great way to look at things. I really need to remember this more often–I’m such an over thinker sometimes! Thanks for sharing, great post!

Two great books that got me to this are. #1 Blink by: Malcolm Gladwell and #2 Think by: Michael LeGaul. Each book argues against the other. After I read both I came up with this little bit. I’m glad you liked it.
